Intel Xeon Gold 6226 vs AMD EPYC 7702

The AMD EPYC 7702 is newer than Intel Xeon Gold 6226 @ 2.70GHz and is significantly faster in multi-threaded (CPU Mark) testing. However the CPUs have comparable single-thread rating. Also, AMD EPYC 7702 uses around 46% more power. All the CPUs in this comparison belong in the Server CPU Class.
